It's a long shot, but check all your external rubber buttons. If any of
them are pushed in too far so they would jam inside the hole, can cause such
a lockup, though I've not seen it happen mid roll (usually it starts after
rewind when the rewind button has been pushed in hard with a ballpoint pen,
and the button becomes jammed inside the hole.)
