Sounds like they are mostly cutting back and consolidating production,
of which there is none in the UK or EU.
I kept hoping I was one of only few who found their array of P&S
digicams confusing and rather ho-hum. Weird model line-up and marketing.
I just saw two of their stylus design DCs next to each other at Costco.
At first glance, they appeared to be almost identical, although one cost
$50 more than the other. Closer inspection showed the specs to be almost
identical except one was a bit bigger than the other. That kind of
confusion just loses sales to the average DC buyer. It's confusing
enough without apparently identical cameras from the same manufacturer.
You have to just make a commitment to one or the other and sell it as
best you can. Then do your research to see why it is or isn't selling
and change with the next model.
Maybe this crisis will result in some clearer focus and streamlining.
The Nik*n and Can*n product lines are so much clearer. I hope Oly gets
their act together.
