It doesnt surprise me that firmware hacks for digicams are 
available...tho I didnt realize the extent.  A friend of mine is really 
into firmware hacks and recently bought a  DVD recorder from Walmart 
(actually a re-branded Liteon product) and I guess someone 
"re-engineered" the firmware so that you can do all kinds of nifty things.

Firmware upgrades are always good.
