You have some very nice images.
</snip>

Thank you very much

<snip>
a couple of light spots, one large and one small, on either side of the
water which I think should be burned out
</snip>

OK, I'll give it a try. So far my attempts/experiments in dodging and
burning in PS have not been too successful.

<snip>
the large one might be an old croft house but it's too small to be sure, so
it's distracting
</snip>

You're right it is a house though I've no idea whether it's a crofters.
I'd never thought of 'removing' it, I'll see what it comes out like. Must
be one of the most photographed houses in Scotland (or at the very least
Glencoe) as it is in nearly every photo I've seen of the area and there
were several other photographers around at the time.

What was really annoying is that as I was driving away (I'd got about half
a mile or so) the most glorious sunlight suddenly poured through a gap in
the clouds and lit up the lake and house (similar to my shot but MUCH
nicer) that I could see in the rear view mirror and you could tell that a
photo opportunity was only going to last about 30 seconds. After that it
returned to thick grey clouds. If only I'd stayed about 5 minutes longer!

<snip>
Inversnaid Hotel (the waterfall) is a very nice composition, though it
feels a bit odd to have the waterfall flowing toward a near edge of the
frame.
</snip>

Yeah I know, there wasn't a lot I could do about it. It may appear that
the waterfall is part of some big open space, but it is in fact surrounded
by the railings of the hotel and that was the only angle I could get and
crop all the ugly stuff out. It was my first attempt at creating the
blurred water effect and I was just pleased that I'd got it.

<snip>
cropping off a bit of the water (say halfway between the boat and the frame
bottom) would emphasise the sky, which is stronger than the water
</snip>

Thanks for the advice I'll give it a go. I much prefer Loch Katrine as it
happens but that was shrouded in thick fog at the time so I didn't get any
shots there.

Thanks again.

Jason.
