While B is a mechanical reset position in the 2, 2N, 2S, 4, 4T, 4Ti, it does
not link mechanically to the shutter in the PC (OM-40). The condition you
are experiencing is common to many PCs. Problem may be bad trigger switch
but also may be fatal circuit problem. Sometimes replacing the batteries
'fixes' it, but not in the long run. As an afterthought, I'd sooner suggest
a good clean 2N or 4T.
