Well as you say I did not use the E1 long enough...about a day...to be honest I
could carre less about the interface....after a few days I would be used to it
and that would be that.

So my impressions of the E1...hmmmm...I think this is a good first attempt for
Olympus (I do NOT mean this in a condecending way). I think the E2 will be
awesome.

To be honest, the small sensor size of the E1 makes for, well, poor noise I
think. I have just gotten used to being able to shoot superb ISO 800 shots
with the S2...and with a quick Neat Image on ISO 1600 I can have awesome pics.

And the out of camera shots from an S2 are really the best I have seen, and
this is after trying MANY DSLRs before getting one (big investment you know).

Now the S2 is not built nearly as well as the E1 ;-( NOT EVEN CLOSE, but in
the end I think the S2 takes much better pictures...again this is not to
hob-nob but I traded off build quality and kit quality, which the E1 has, for
better pictures (IMHO).

I really think Olympus will have a SUPERB E2 (I hope we really need
competition).

Now if Oly bought a Fuji Sensor then........

As you say, there's nothing like using a product to appreciate it. I had only
15 minutes with the S2, so my opinion wasn't formed over a long period. As a
counterargument, I have heard of very few people who have been unhappy the the
images that they get out of their S2's.

What didn't you like about the E-1? The only thing that I really wish for
these days is a constantly-displayed ISO marker. Otherwise the camera has been
superb.
