I don't know whether shipping makes this impractical, but I've been fairly
impressed with KEH's resolution of a problem recently. Perhaps you should
return it.

I bought a Kiron 105mm macro, and when it arrived I noticed that it wouldn't
stop down past f16 and the tab that tell the camera the aperture seemed to
be uncoupled, i.e., doing nothing. So I phoned them up and sent it back.

It arrived back fixed about a week and a half later. Allowing for
transborder shipping, that's amazing - they must have turned it around in a
day or two. I was impressed with that.

On the down side, this could easily have been caught during inspection, and
it cost me CDN $19 for shipping and some inconvenience. Still, the lens was
a bargain all told.

Even if you don't return it you might want to use the feedback page on their
site. If their inspections are slipping they should know.

(BTW, thanks for the recommendation, Moose - a very nice lens.)
