Heh...but can you develop a fetish for plastic lens cases? All phallic
imagery aside, when I stand around holding my one of my OMs with a
Zuiko on it I love the feeling of the lens barrel. That satisfying
tactile sense of the aperture ring and shutter speed ring and the way
they naturally fall under my fingertips. So cool and metallic and with
very precise detents. And the sound of the OM shutter is the sweetest
thing this side of a Leica rangefinder. If someone designing a digital
could grab that aesthetic the way Mr. Maitani did and make me fall in
love with a digital system I'd be there in a second. I know in the end
its all about the images, but the process with an OM is so satisfying.
