The E-1, like all AF cameras, has problems focusing as the light level drops.
I had a big problem the other night trying to take swimming pictures as the
light dropped. But I guess that I should have just packed it in, as I had to
go to ISO 3200, f/3.5, and 1/125 to get anyting usable. And they were pretty
bad compared to the pix just 1 hr before due to light loss.

As Moose points out, the AF performance for the E-1 isn't any different than
it's peer cameras, according to the big sites' reports. As usual, a faster
lens helps, and this is where Olympus still lags behind; their fast primes
aren't available yet (except the 50/2).

What I wish all the E-1 had was the option for a split image or a microprism
focusing screen to assist with manual focusing. This is a common problem with
most AF SLR's though (from any manufacturer). As the camera makers assume that
AF is always going to be on, they don't give us a way to do really accurate
manual focusing..
