Hi, all. A very late reply for an old thread...

A while ago, mi 'pocket camera' was a Ricoh GR-1. Nice things about it:

*Tiny & slim.
*Sharp 28/2.8 lens, at any aperture.
*Great (semi-)manual control, with the choice of full-auto P&S -- just be
careful with the aperture control moving from 'P' to '2.8' when taking it
from the pocket!
*Scale focus indication in viewfinder -- great to know when the AF is wrong!
*Pre-roll film loading system -- if back gets open mid-roll, all pics but
the last will be safe inside the film chassis.

Some drawbacks:

*Because of the pre-roll system, film chamber & take-up spool *must* be
absolutely clean -- otherwise you may get black spots on the prints/slides.
*The CR-2 lithium battery lasts long, but when changing don't keep the
camera without battery for more than a couple of minutes: it will revert to
ASA 100 setting, no matter the film loaded! (it's DX-coded)
*Pics are quite sharp with hogh resolution, but somewhat dull.
*Very long shutter lag (about a second), though it can be tweaked in
special manual modes for a quicker response.
*Flash is ridiculous (GN = 7m) and works mainly for fill. If flash is the
main/only light source, you get underexposure.

Ob. Oly content: now a mju-2 (aka Stylus Epic) replaces it in my pocket ;-)

BTW, both cameras are quite suitable for slide film, though I'd recommend
not to use film faster than ASA 200 (print film is OK up to 800)

Enjoy,

...
