Just get a good anti-virus software and make sure it is updated. I suggest

Apparently many of these providers now think they are big enough that
they need not police their nets. That's something AOL once thought,
until they got black holed by a bunch of major backbone ISPs and
suddenly all their customer's email went mostly into the bit bucket. It
was a real bad thing to allow telcos and cable companies to actually
sell internet connectivity service rather than just provide transport
level services, IMHO. They haven't the mindset or the expertise to do
the kind of customer support and proactive intervention that's required.
As far as they figure, if the data's flowing, everything must be just
fine...

That was my experiencewith Comcast, as well, Scott.  I will note that
SBCGlobal DSL seems to employ even less talented and motivated folk.
