Tris,
*Very* eloquently put.
I found the review of no little interest, too. As a 1D owner (and big
fan of the 1D), I am very interested in the Mark II...it is the
answer to many a pro photographer's dreams...enough resolution for
serious studio, wedding and commercial work, and with all the
benefits that it made it a photojournalists and sports shooters de
facto standard. I can't say enough how impressed I am with the prints
I get from a 1D and an Epson 2200; I can only imagine what they will
be like with a Mark II with that incredible CMOS sensor.

Canon has taken everyone to the mat with this camera....

For further reading, check out Stephen's Eastwood's comments using a
preproduction Mark II:

I can't say when, but I will own this camera at some point in the
reasonably near future.

Anyone want to buy a very clean D60? ;-)

-Stephen.
