We don't do snow. A bit of sand here and there. Occasionally there's a death or two - usually someone who thinks an SUV can go anywhere and only wimps take enough water. 800f Australians live in cities and suburbs (not me). And yet the city roads are clogged with mums driving the kids to school in Land Cruisers that never get muddy. I need 4WD just to get out of my driveway and yet, somehow, I suspect that I'm still a sad bastard.

(Well, it was the first blood heat day of spring - 39deg.C - so I went a bit troppo and decided to revive a classic topic, OK?)

Do you really drive a 4WD vehicle to portray an image? Those of us that need to drive in deep snow certainly don't. The choice between a good 4WD and the average Hyundai econobox is a no-brainer in this country. All winter I see small econoboxes buried in the snow along the roads and sometimes the people in them have died. Hell, I see them stuck in plowed parking lots. I don't care if I look like I mean business........I just want to get to my destination. The same thoughts apply to Olympus cameras. /jim

It's not designed for tourists. It's designed for us sad bastards who want to look as if we mean business - that's why we drive 4WD's, not Hyundais.
