Yes, thanks John. It caught my interest, because I have an OM-2 and an OM-2n, and both of them started having strange meter problems within about 3 months of each other. Basically the meters dropped and since they read low, the exposure is off. I need to send both of them to you for a visit (cla), along with 2 OM-1's, as soon as I have a few bucks to spare. I look forward to having a couple of bodies in which I can trust the meters again.

The 2N is not likely to develop that type of flaky ISO dial, as the
mechanics are very different. The 2S is unique in that annoying problem,
(a dry ceramic board with printed resistance values). You may see similar
problems in the PC, 10, G and F, as they use a similar body design of
printed ceramic board under the ISO knob. 2S problem is usually solved by
coating the board with dielectric grease.

The 2N may develop an erratic needle, but the 1, 1N and 2 can too for
similar mechanical reasons (bad ground, fractured wire). There is a ceramic
ring found on the 2/2N meter, but that controls auto shutter speeds and does
not affect meter position (which is done by a mechanical cam). Hope this
helps!
