The US does have a restriction on Letter Airmail items. It is a maximum
total of 36 inches in the sum of the usual three dimensions (LxWxH). And a
maximum length of one side being 24 inches (so you can't send a 36 inch
poster tube that way).

If it is outside of these then you have to use Parcel Airmail.

Delivery times are 5-7 days for Letter and 5-10 days for the parcel version
I believe.
