Definitely seems to be 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 film.  And since you say 
there are frame numbers, it must have been a film pack instead of 
of sheet film.  The only emulsions available in this size in 
packs, according to my ancient reference materials, were Tri-X and 
Plus-X.
