Ok, now I get it!
The attachment idea looks feasible if you have some decent brass bending
tools. It would need to be pretty accurate and fit really snugly to the
corner of the body, because that's quite a lever length to hang off one
screw, which isn't really in the best place for the job. Without some extra
geometric support, the whole thing could be pretty fragile (at least from an
alignment perspective)
For feasibility, wouldn't a hot - shoe mounted version on a 4 be easier?
(evidently ignore this if program mode is important - but then why would one
need the display?)
One other thought. If you're planning to make this thing go bright, heat
control is likely to become an issue, at least for the plastic window and
probably for the ends of fingers too...
Wouldn't it be easier to make it just bright enough for concerts, and easily
removable for daylight?
