My understanding is that the lens is stopped down, but then the OTF
meter controls the shutter speed.  So in program mode if there is some
inaccuracy in the stop down, e.g. stops down to f11 instead of f8, then
there will be some compensation done by the OTF meter to the shutter
speed to achieve correct exposure.
