Fast,
Put your 2S in program mode.  Select a stop such as f16.

The camera will try to shoot at a shutter speed which is about the reciprocal of the rated ASA of the film, so Provia F 100 would be 1/125, Velvia 1/60, etc.

The camera will then match the stop to the OTF reading, with f16 being your pre-selected limit.

So your actual shot with Provia might be something like 1/125 at f8 even though you had stopped down to F16.

It's more complicated than that, of course.
