My car camera is an Olympus RC, a small, all mechanical, rangefinder. On
really hot days of summer, if I must leave it in the car, I put it on the
floor of the car, in a shaded area of the interior preferably, and cover it
with several layers of a blanket which I carry in the car. It doesn't really
get that warm there, even if the interior of the car soars to a very high
temperature. So far, I've never had a problem.
