BTW, are there any other users who observed the following: In my subjective

Could this be because of the double mirror?

The double mirror doesn't inherently have any effect on sharpness. If your OM-4 shots were consistently less sharp, it might be that the mirror is out of adjustment, which can happen to any SLR

If there is no difference at faster shutter speeds, it seems likely that either your holding/shooting technique with the two different shutter release styles differs enough to make a difference or it is random results from doing something difficult. I know lots of people claim to be able to hand-hold speeds below 1/60 sec. successfully. I know that I have done so, especially with cameras with tiny shutter mechanisms and soft releases, like the XA. On the other hand, I believe that there are VERY few people who can hand hold an SLR at 1/30 or below CONSISTENTLY, shot after shot. Unless you've done a lot of testing, you could be looking at that kind of variability.

I recently took shots of Tule Elk with a zoom at its 200mm limit. Light and film speed were such that 1/125 to 1/250 wide open was the best I could do. Standing in a stiff, gusty breeze, I took 7-8 shots as carefully as I could. A couple came out sharp, the rest not. I think any shot below 1/60 has similar problems. Maybe the ratio will be different, but some will not be sharp.

And then, do the plain 3's have the same battery ptoblem as the plain 4's?

Yes
