First, to whoever posted saying that Hoyas have brass threads, the info I
found says they are anodized aluminum. That's what a worn one I have is.
That was my post, and if what you say is true then I'm guilty of babbling
back blind what I got off this list two or three years ago when Hoya vs.
B+W build quality was debated. At that time the pro-Hoya crowd stated these
filters came with brass threads. If that is not the case then so be it.
All I "know" is what I'm told as I've never used Hoya filters, only Tiffen
and B+W, and the quality of the latter is somewhat higher across the board
from what I can tell--though Tiffen does have some handy specialty glass
that has worked as billed when I need it.
