The hex hole in the screw-in cover on the bottom of the centerpost goes all the way through. Four possibilities immediately come to mind for providing something to hang weight on.

1. One could put a threaded eyebolt through and use a locking nut, thread-loc or double nuts to hold it reliably. 2. Or one could drill out the hex hole, thread it for 1/4-20, put a bolt through from the other side, use it directly for low mounting the head and camera and with a coupling nut and eye or hook bolt for holding weight. 3. Or one could just put a loop of cord of suitable size through with a knot inside to hold it in.
4. Or a new device with the appropriate thread could replace the cap.

I wonder if anyone has figured out a way to attach a bit of weight hanging from the center column to help stabilize this little tripod? Would love to hear any discussion from anyone who has figured this out, assuming it has been done. I feel no need to reinvent the wheel. Bill Barber
