I did take a few moments to check the resolution in the darkroom
of the 100/2.8 at F11 frame.  I'm still puzzled.  I ran the
enlarger all the way to the top and studied the res chart with
my grain magnifier.  There's an end to it somewhere.  Just not
sure where.  It did go a full circle smaller than anything I was
able to discern with the loupe.  I could tell that I was running
up against the grain's ability to resolve, though.  I'm going to
have to run a test print at maximum magnification to figure it
out.

As to John's comments about diffraction limiting not being that
big of a deal at F16 in a 100mm lens... I agree in principle,
but according to Gary's lens testing there was a marked fall-off
in resolution the more the lens was stopped down.  I know that
with some of the lenses F8 is about the ideal point.  But this
100/2.8 gets sharper and sharper the more it's stopped down. 
Same with the 200/4, but I didn't res-chart test it yet.
