I agree. I will wait for a bit. Strange Nikon had nothing of news.

Subject: [OM] Photokina disappointment

Well I had an exhausting day in Cologne. First stop was needless to say
the Oly stand - but oh what a let down. The Four-Thirds display was as we
saw in the pix on the web (url previously posted) and it was truly just a
glass case looking really lost in a corner - it was almost completely
ignored by almost all the visitors and there was no-one pushing it from the
Oly side at all. It was only presenting a conceptual study of what an
interchangeable lens digital SLR could look like. No documentation,
nothing; the sales rep laughed off the idea that we'd see the brand name
Zuiko again, or that OM lenses would be usable. And as for the rest of the
stand - pure consumer point and shoot stuff. Yes the E20s were there but
no big fuss. Really disappointing and no pro feel about any of it.

So I had to look to the N*k*n stand and what a difference. Try any body
sir... what lens would you like to try on it... 80-200mm f2.8? 24-120mm?
Mmmm yes please!
But I can't get excited about an F80 or F100 (and an F5 is not only too
expensive but toooo big!). And although they have nice lenses I can't even
manage to manual focus (the focusing screens aren't meant for it, and the
ones with built-in motors aren't really manually focusable - they
'focus-by-wire' with a horrible delay). So I tried an FM3 - not bad, that
1/4000 shutter is sweet. but now I can't see out of my right eye 'cos the
wind lever pokes it... And the aperture number being visible thru the
little window is really retro.

Nope, think I'll stay with the OM4...

best regds
Jez
