Well, I haven't had any pictures back from them yet. I "might" be surprised,
but I'm a litle skeptical. They really do look like something you might
waste good shots on by using.

I have a Tokina ATX 28-85 that I got cheap as a mis-advertised skylight
filter, which I originally bought for a beater. Then some people on the list
told me I couldn't use it for a beater, apparently because it was too good
for that. I also have a Vivitar 28-80/3.5-4.5 RL all metal lens that
honestly gives very excellent pictures. It is really my favorite zoom,
partly because of it being a one touch. I would really sooner risk the
Tokina if I had to choose between the two.
No, I guess I really don't need 5 zooms in this range. I'm not sure I need
any of them. In fact, I think for the last 2 or 3 months I've been using
primes almost exclusively, with the 50/1.8 getting probably 900f the use.
So one zoom for a beater is enough. I'm guessing the other two plastic ones
will set in my lens drawer until my sons come for a visit, then its "Hey,
thanks dad".

If it wasn't for my wife wanting some prints, I'd likely keep slide film in
all my cameras all the time. And if I could find it and could afford it, it
would be Kodachrome 64. That's what discourages me from getting a good
digital camera, they don't take slides. But for my "handy all-the-time
camera", which is an Epic MJU/2.8, I keep Portra 400VC in it all the time.
