While the Tokina 28-85/4 is on peoples minds, I'd like to ask about this
comparable lens.

Does anyone else use this lens, or know anything about it? I've found
nothing on the web about this particular 'Jena' model.

It's a 'Jenazoom II' that I've been told was produced by Sigma. It has a
62mm filter thread, MC, 1:4 macro across the zoom range and with two touch
action.

I find it invaluable for the magazine work I do: first because the wide
angle macro allows me to stand behind the camera for shots with my hands in
the frame (step-by-step woodcarving) and second because of the zoom range
which allows me to position the camera somewhere convenient and then compose
the shot. The two touch action is important in that it doesn't creep when
it's on a tripod pointing down.

I've had it repaired a couple of times now, having dropped it 8-( Both times
the shop said 'It's not worth it', but were unable to suggest a comparable
alternative. I paid ST£70 for it in about 1985 and it's cost about ST£80
each time to get guides replaced, service, clean etc.
