One difference between film and digital is that a lens can't be
too sharp for film. For digital a lens needs to be less sharp
than the sensor resolution. As spatial frequency increases, film
degrades smoothly to 0% MTF. Digital hits a resolution wall, then
aliases, creating nasty artifacts. Some of the better digital
cameras intended for use with film lenses, like the Kodak high
end cameras have antialiasing plates over the sensors to blur the
image.

Did not know that. What a marketing windfall. Cheap lenses make for better digital. Wonder why the cameras are so expensive. Supply and demand, I guess.
