Although the 3.6 is a *better* lens in that it is faster, the 35-70/4 has
similar performance, is cheaper, and is easier to find in good condition. I
love mine. But the extra bit of aperture on the 3.6 is useful in low-light
conditions. The 35-70/3.5-4.5 is slower at most focal lengths than either
the aforementioned lenses, but is very compact if weight and size are a huge
concern for you... although with a Winder or MD attached, the heavier zooms
still have a nice balanced feel. Of course, a REAL Zuikoholic would opt for
the 35-80/2.8 as their shooting lens, and own all the other variations of
this zoom range for intrinsic value... lol
Are there any of the other zooms in the aprox. 35-70mm range that people
would recommend over this one?
C.H. Ling's post has made me a little more hesitant on picking up one of
these.
