Hi Robert,
I have a collection of 1979, 81, 82 87 & 89 Shipman books. The 1979 has
208 pages and the 1989 has 172 pages. They all pretty much repeat the
one before it. There is not a whole lot of new info added in the later
issues.

The next best book I have seen is "The OM system Lens Handbook". It has
some great info on all the lenses, Published in 1984.

Another good one is Olympus OM Camera Manual by Lou Jacobs Jr. 1978 and
is a small hardback.

Olympus failed at the auto focus game in the late 1980's and it killed
them. Their relationship with retailers fell and never recovered until
Olympus gained favor in the digital market the last few years.

Hope this helps,
Buddy Walters

I look forward to seeing the newer version and reading more about the
Olympus system.

Are there any other favorite reading materials for the development of
the OM system?

I never saw Olympus at their best.
Is there any good explanation for popular resistance to OM?
