M42 would be for the pentax/practica screw mount. M39
is the leica screw thread size with a 28mm back focus.
The M42 back focus is 45.46mm and the OM is 46mm if I
remember right. The leica M bayonet mount is 27mm to
the film, so with any of these adapters you could not
reach inf. John Robison
