The bottom plate has always used cross point screws (Olmypus, like most
Japanese manfucaturers, don't use phillips screws).  The first M-1/OM-1's used
slotted screws on the lens mount flange.  Unfortunately Olympus also decided
to "glue" some of them in.  With these screws the heads usually get damaged
when removing the screws.  Depending on how damaged they are, the technician
may decide to replace them with new cross point screws. So just because the
body doesn't have slotted screws, it doesn't mean it isn't a true M-1.
