Good Morning to all!!!

I hope everyone is having as great a day as I am having so far, thanks
for asking!

In reviewing the comments made about my purchase last evening, I feel
compelled to respond, as I think each and every one has some value and
pertinence, as relative to eB*y trading, dentistry, prism rot,
photography, relative value, etc...

First, the root canal question, as I believe it was the first to arrive
after the auction, and I KNOW it was posed in good humor and jest, but I
think it is relevant. I, like many of my patients avoid root canals
like the plague...doing them, that is, because I just can't stand the
procedure, so I CHOOSE not to do them, and I am in a position to refer
those to well qualified specialists. Thankfully, we have plenty of
those in the Daytona Beach area, where I chose to live 22 years ago. I
prefer to value my indulgences in terms of crowns. My fee for 1 crown
is just about exactly what I paid for the Black 2N. So, I need to do
about 3.5 crowns to pay for it (of course remembering that a dental
office has much higher overhead than ANY other type of medical practice,
as well as income tax, SS tax, etc.) That was what I was willing to pay,
and if the camera is indeed new, I believe, for me and my values, it is
worth it.

My second consideration, as always in these matters, was the seller's
rating and feedback. It all looked good to me, thus reducing my risk on
being "taken". His description includes a money back guarantee. I
saved the pix so I can compare serial ##'s.

One of my chief concerns about this, is in fact the shrink wrap. As a
person who has bought and sold new OM's over the past 25 years, I have
never seen a shrink wrapped unit. John H. has given some encouragement
there, by his contribution this morning. Thank you for that, John.
Anyway, it still looks new from what I can see of it through the wrap.

The foam is another of my main concerns here, and I hope the prizm is
OK. If need be, John H. will take care of it for me. I hear he's real
good at fixin' these things.

Next, I AM a Zuikoholic, and I do not expect everyone else on this list
to be one, or to understand all my motivation, but since all have chosen
to comment, I feel free to comment back. To many Pro Photographers, the
equipment is just a "hammer" or tool. Fine. Not to me, and not to many
others on this list. I did what I chose to do, and maybe I will end up
screwed, but I don't think so. Maybe I am "only a nut" or "crazy" but I
don't think so. Maybe it won't be "worth it" but that is for me alone
to decide. Maybe people who made disparaging comments are just jealous.
I think so.

Have a great day,
John

Consider it brand new. Price is what you would expect to pay
for an equivelent new Canon or Nikon body.

The question is, do you open it up and use it or keep it forever
like that expensive bottle of wine that you don't want to risk
opening because it's probably vinegar. Does anybody actually
eat fruitcake or do we keep them in the shrink-rap to give to
somebody else the next year?
