Hi All

Having seen someone say the wrong thing about copying a
large website, than coping a bit of flack, I would just put it
down to education. There are a lot of people on the internet
who rightly, or wrongly, think that if the imformation is on
the web that they can copy the lot. It's also amazing the
number of people who cannot read, or even bother to
check to see if there are any disclaimers.....

Add to that the advent of ADSL and Broadband in general,
while most people like myself have only small 128k pipelines,
one person sucking the website kills it for everyone else, and
a lot of them dont realise what they are doing to other users
of that resource.

I host a 10Gb website for OS/2 Software and information, on a
128K ISDN line at home, and even though I put "Dont Mirror"
everywere, people still attempt to do it, then get upset when I
add thier IP range to a banned list for a month, its also a pain
for me as I can think of better things to do.

Overall I tend to view it the same way as I view educating
people about email, HTML, and those annoying Microsoft
characters that break the RFC's. A nicely worded email, with
some instructions on how to setup MS OutLook, and the
reasons why they should turn off Auto everything (except
things like footers). The main thing I do is to point out the
advantages to them, not worded so they think I'm hitting
them over the head with a lump of 4x2.

Anyway, gidday :-)
I'm new to the list, having only recently replaced my Olympus
gear that was sold to help fund a 4 year family law struggle.

I hope to both learn, relearn, and were possible, to help others.
