Oh, slander, vicious slander!  Take it back, Andrew!  The XL does 
too do 6x9!  The two backs I most often use are a Mamiya 6x7, 
loaded with Provia, and a Horseman 6x9, loaded with Velvia.  Now, 
admittedly, the bright line frames in the viewfinder are for 6x7, 
but I haven't found it too much of a problem to figure just a 
smidgen more on either side will be in the picture.

As for not being as robust, I can't offer an opinion.  I haven't 
dropped one yet, and I hope my luck, and my hands, hold out.
