I should go with a single-digit body: the OM1N is purely mechanical
with manual metering, the OM2N has an electronic shutter with
excellent Auto as well as Manual, the OM3 is as rare as rocking-horse
pooh, the OM4 is has spot metering in Auto and Manual. Oh, and the
OM2 Spot Program is probably a good one to start with if you want
Auto, Manual (with a spot meter) and Program. I bought an OM2SP for
£140 from London Camera Exchange in Lincoln a few months ago.

I have missed out the OM1 and 2, the 3Ti and 4Ti, but you can have
too much information at once ;-).

A List member has put together huge amounts of information on a website called

http://www.e-sif.net - you might wish to have a look, but beware: it
will generate a high degree of covetousness in you ... a condition
called Zuikoholism among this community :>).

Have Fun

Chris

I am planning to buy my first SLR camera and would like to get an Olympus
OM series. My Dad has owned an OM10 for years and my brother has an
OM20. From what I can tell the only difference between the OM10 and OM20
is the addition of a built in manual.

Which would be the best camera to go for? OM10, 20, 30 or 40?

I don't really understand what features make a good camera or what the
differences between these cameras are.

Any help would be very much appreciated!
