I have never used the T-Max, but based on what Ken N wrote I thought it
might be worth a try. While traditionally one exposes B&W for the
shadows, these new emulsions may be different. Certainly if the
highlights are blowing out you have some kind of a problem! It could be
that the T-max does not have the range that Ti-x does.

As for your comments on grain, I agree. To me it is not the graininess
per say that is objectionable, but it's form. Not being real clear here
I know. Some films have real 'clumpy' grain (now there's a technical
term!) while others have the same apparent graininess it is less
objectionable since it is more even.

Are far as film speed goes one should use whatever is appropriate for a
given situation. I have a stock of films running from 64 to 800 for use
depending on the given situation.
