after today, september 11 2001, the world will never be the same
again. No matter where one is living, in the USA or elsewhere in the
world, everyone is dumbstruck after watching the horrible TV images of
this catastrophe. I can hardly believe it yet...
Especially the US citizens will feel the pain, because they have
always been told that a war or a warlike attack on targets inside
their country would be unthinkable. Well, it obviously isn't that
simple. It will be hard to accept that all intelligence services
worldwide have not been able to notice the preparations for this
violent attack, which must have taken many months and in which tens of
terrorists and perhaps hundreds of accomplices must have been
involved.
Let's pray that the wise words spoken today by Colin Powell will be
taken seriously by all world leaders. Only that way further disasters
may be avoided.
Needless to say that my sympathy is with the victims and the many
people staying behind.
