Tom's comment is right on. I shoot airshow stuff quite often and usually
end up with either the 65-200 Zuiko or the 300/4.5. Shooting from the pylon
area you should get some great shots with the 200mm range although for some
really nice stuff you can't beat the 300. Both are easily handholdable at
the apertures and shutter speeds you will be using. Shutter speeds no
higher than 1/250th will allow the props to blur and you will have to pan
for best effect.

Have always wanted to make RENO so envy you your trip. Have fun and bring
lots of shots back to share.
