What film did you use? Aperture/shutter speed?

True, but there's a Tiffen filter (Softnet Diff. 1 skintone) that tames the
100/2 just enough to make it a good portrait lens. Then, with the filter
off, it's back to its unrelenting sharp self again. For an example, see:
