[OM] Bounce Grip 2 question

Subject: [OM] Bounce Grip 2 question

Hi zuiks:

I recently purchased the OTHER bounce grip 2 from Brooklyn Camera
Exchange! Mine didn't come with the batteries or instructions, as Mr.
Johnson's did.

My question is: how does the bracket clamp tighten to the grip section?
I have the PDF file for the instructions, which indicate that I should
turn the bracket clamp - the bracket clamp does not turn!

I removed the four screws holding the plate on the end of the bracket
clamp. A round disc is attached to the plate with three screws. The
other side of the round disc fits into an "ear" on the knurled ring.
The mounting pin goes through the center of the knurled ring, and is
secured by a brass screw. A small spring is held in place by a brass
retainer. The purpose of the spring is to make the guide pin spring
loaded.

It seems that I should be able to turn the knurled ring, and have the
bracket clamp down on the grip. But, i don't see how this can work when
the screws are holding the round disc solid to the mounting plate.

Does it sound like I'm missing parts, or ??? The unit is in nice shape
cosmetically, and I would like to keep it, provided I can get the two
pieces to clamp together.

Sorry to be so stupid on this, but I've never seen a Bounce GRip 2
before.

Thanks!

Bill Stanke
