I use Graphic Converter as well, and it is worth the fee, but have
you found any other applications as an alternative to Photoshop for
the Mac? I have downloaded Rainbow Painter, but it is too
complicated for me ;-).

Chris

It depends on the graphic but you're right, I've seen it happen. I have one
program (graphic converter, on the Mac) which also offers an option of LZW
with prediction. That seems to give me a smaller file size in any situation
(even those that were compressed with plain LZW seem to get smaller, and the
ones that used to be actually bigger do actually see some compression as
well). It is a bit slower but I've never had a problem with opening these
files in any graphics program.

There is a limited edition of Corel Paint for the Mac that is supposed to very UNlimited that is large, but free download from the Corel web site. Corel Paint is a suite which includes their version of Photoshop.
