Some straps have little leather 'pads' to stop the ring rubbing on the
body, but even that will eventually wear away the chrome. In fact, its the
bit of the strap around the ring that does most of the damage. Nylon
webbing is quite abrasive. Buy black bodies - they look so serious when a
bit brassed up. :-)
