John,

If it were me, I'd require a payment of that size to be via wire transfer
directly to my bank account. That's the only way you could be sure to have
good funds in your account prior to shipping the package. I wouldn't take a
credit card from Thailand.

As for shipping, you should contact FedEx, Airborne, or DHL. They should be
able to insure your package appropriately.  I also agree with another post;
shipping, payment fees, and insurance are the buyer's responsibility, not yours.

FYI, I sold a computer several weeks ago and the guy paid via Paypal ($980).
He was a bit cheap and didn't want to have insurance on the package. So I sent
it to him uninsured with the VERY CLEAR policy that once it left my hands, it
was his problem if it disappeared during shipment. He agreed, and the computer
arrived without incident in California, saving him $15. Shipping
internationally is entirely another issue. I wouldn't ship to anywhere outside
of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, Singapore, HK, or Japan via post office.
I'd use a courier service like FedEx.

That's just my $.02.

I have a international auction shipment that is going to Thailand.
It appears that the buyer wants to use a credit card. I can't take cards
directly.
What options can I recommend besides BidPay (item is $3500).
UPS is not what they want to do and USPS won't insure for over $1500 I think.
Any ideas?
Any dangers/pitfalls?
Thanks
John R
