[OM] need help (info) with a large $ international shipment-anyone done one?

I have a international auction shipment that is going to Thailand.
It appears that the buyer wants to use a credit card. I can't take cards 
directly.
What options can I recommend besides BidPay (item is $3500).
UPS is not what they want to do and USPS won't insure for over $1500 I think.
Any ideas?
Any dangers/pitfalls?
