So the 28/2 _is_ a desirable lens, right?

I called an independent repair place before taking the lens
back to the store. The repair specialist quoted me 450-500FF
(= DM 135-150, or about $70) for cleaning the diaphragm.
Obviously the same price range. Keep your fingers crossed
that it is only the diaphragm acting up! The repair is
on warranty, though.

Another thing: I managed to get the Metz 36 CT 3 flash to
work (with the standard SCA adapter, i.e. in "automatic",
non-TTL mode). But only in manual, not in aperture priority;
which is not disturbing, but if anyone has some tips as to
how to operate the non-TTL flash best, I'm always interested.

Thanks to all for the welcome!
