You can try UMAX's web for software download

http://www.umax.com/scanners/standard/support/software.cfm

I search 1200S and Win 98 they gives VistaScan 3.1, I think it will
also work on ME.

I'm using MagicScan on my 1220S, it is came with the Binuscan I
purchased. It is also available to download from UMAX's web. Just
search magicscan from UMAX's search engine. I think it will also work
on your 1200S, it is better than the VistaScan and it work on my ME
system.
