According to my optomitrist, my "shooting" eye is a -4.5 diopter which is
*way* bad.  With glasses off, it's impossible to see darned near anything
in the viewfinder.  In my case, there's hardly any difference between the
"most" and "least" blurry positions...  it's all just one great big blur! 
:-)  And, besides, then composition is a pain, too!  :-)))

Btw, I wear single-vision specs for working at the computer for the same
reason.  If I take my computer/reading specs off, I can't read the screen
(17" monitor) at arms length.  If I wear the progressives, I have to
position my head "just so" (tilted upward somewhat) in order to see the
screen clearly.  This results in a serious neck ache after awhile.
