Albert,
  By all means go the 24! In either configuration (2.8/2) it is one of
the sweetest most useful lens there is.
You just about have to make an effort to get distortion with it and the
24/2.8 is one of the smallest lens in the Zuiko line, being only
slightly larger than the the 40 f2 of much renown.  Refer to Gary's test
for technical details on all lens but remember that they are just part
of the whole picture.
