John,
Good to hear from you!
It's nice to join a church that needs you, thing s always work out better.
When we first moved back to the Cleveland area, we had that choice. Went to
the church that needed us and really grew because of it. The other church
was THE church to join, we just weren't into social climbing.

Congratulations on the house! Boy, I'd have to think a while on the darkroom
bit. The way scanners and electronics are going, it sure will be less
smelly and maybe a little faster. You can also do it anywhere, not just in
a small dark room.

Downside of scanner way is getting a printer large enough to handle paper
for what you really want.

On the other hand, enlargers are so cheap now that they are almost giving
them away! With a JOBO setup, it would work quite well...

Sometimes I wonder where all this is going and maybe the
Olympus/Nikon/Canon/Minolta/Pentax stuff just keeps being sold to more old
farts that just don't have the sense to give up.

I haven't had the chance to do much photography recently. I've been
conducting workshops and may father was in the hospital. Went in for
diverticulitis and had surgery for colon cancer. Went home 3 days later and
was mowing the yard 10 days after his surgery. He's 90, Dr. told him not to
drive for 2 weeks. My dad said that the Dr. didn't tell him he couldn't
mow! Geez!! Anyway, he's now fine.

So how have you like the 5600? Thing really pumps out the light doesn't it?
If you do a lot of work at the church, you might invest in an SB-4 cord. It
is an AC cord that will save you a lot of batteries!

IF you decide to get a 4T, I have a sort of uglee one you might want to look
at. I got it ~ 2years ago. It had been a rental and was looking beat-up.
I use it as my standard camera. Had a chance to buy another a while back
that is in better shape, but I'll likely keep the gooder one.

My wife and I just went through cameras. She decided to finally stop using
her 1 that she got in '74 and begin using a 2n. Finally. I had to make
sure to get her old strap from the 1 onto the 2n. The strap is 26 years old
too, just like the 1.

Thanks for the note, keep in touch!
